Dr Pradeepa Jayaratne

Dr. Pradeepa Jayaratne joined RMIT in 2021. She completed her Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management and MSc in Logistics at the Sydney Business School (SBS) of University of Wollongong, Australia. She has over 15 years of experience in teaching, research and consultancy in Transport and logistics sector. She has teaching and research experience in key education institutes in Canada, Australia, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Prior to joining RMIT, Dr. Pradeepa Jayaratne served as an Associate Professor at the Iqra University, Pakistan.


She has been an active professional in the transport and logistics field where she has undertaken much research and has published widely in the Transport and Logistics field. She has been an active member of many consultancy projects and she serves a Consultant for several institutes in such as World Bank, ADB and UN-Habitat as well as government ministries such as Ministry of Transport, and Passenger Transport and Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development.


She is a member of many international professional institutes such as CILT and IEEE. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CILT UK). She has published over 40 journals and peer-reviewed conference papers and co-authored two books in the transport and logistics field. She also serves as a reviewer for several international and local conferences and journals.


She has won several awards during her professional life. Among them, the world prestigious Australian Leadership Award, ADB scholarship to undertake a training program at University of Calgary, Canada, and International Postgraduate Tuition Award from the University of Wollongong. She has also won several best research paper awards for her research work carried out during the last few years.


Her research interest is in the areas such as sustainable logistics and supply chain management, supply chain collaboration and integration, outsourcing and risk management.
