Gifted high schools in Vietnam - Equal or Not?

Influenced by the principles of Confucianism, Vietnam places a significant emphasis on cultivating talents through education, thereby harnessing our human capital to develop the country. This presentation analyses the opposing discourses surrounding the establishment of gifted schools, where some believe that they are essential for producing spearheads for the country, while others argue that these schools only perpetuate education inequality. While acknowledging that these discourses alone may not entirely eliminate education inequality, they open up a great opportunity to point out and address the issues stemming from such inequality and the existence of specialized schools.
