The Diverse Experiences and Challenges of Parallel Societies Among Vietnamese International Students in Australia

The increasing allure of studying in Australia has attracted some Vietnamese students. Parallel societies have emerged to meet the needs of Vietnamese international students, providing a sense of connection, and a home away from home. This project delves into two significant challenges confronted by Vietnamese students in Australia, specifically the experience of transnational living and the subsequent demand for job opportunities upon returning to their home country. By exploring various concepts from the course, this project aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of the diverse experiences of Vietnamese students in Australia. Additionally, it highlights the relevance of SDGs 10, 16, and 8 in fostering and supporting parallel societies.
