Entrepreneurship education at RMIT University emphasizes experiential learning, where students validate business ideas through interviews, observations, and market experiments. However, many students face psychological and cultural barriers that make these activities difficult to perform confidently. This can lead to avoidance of early-stage validation, unreliable data collection, and difficulty presenting or communicating business ideas effectively.
To address these challenges, this project develops an Entrepreneurship Validation Platform, a web-based crowdfunding simulation for internal use at RMIT University. Students can upload business ideas, prototypes, and pitches, then receive feedback through a simulated crowdfunding mechanism using virtual “class coins.” The platform supports three user roles: Creators, Backers, and Admins.
Since the initial proposal, the problem statement and solution scope have remained consistent. Progress has been made in the design and planning phase, including completion of the Entity Relationship Diagram, system architecture, and application flowcharts. These outputs provide a clear technical foundation for development.
The platform supports entrepreneurial learning by giving students a structured, low-risk environment to test ideas before engaging with real-world stakeholders, while also offering a scalable digital model for technology-supported entrepreneurship education.
