The Second Brain: A High-Performance Infinite Memory & Hierarchical Reflection Engine

Second Brain is a personal intelligence platform developed to help users organise, understand, and revisit information from their daily lives. Unlike a conventional diary that only stores written entries, the system brings together personal notes and contextual data from Google Calendar, Gmail, Contacts, Drive, uploaded documents, and audio recordings. The collected information is processed into structured and searchable memory records.

The platform automatically creates daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly summaries, allowing users to review important events and identify patterns over time. Users can also ask questions about past activities in natural language. Each response is grounded in the user’s stored data and includes source references and a confidence level, making the information easier to verify and reducing unsupported AI-generated answers.

The prototype is built with a Next.js web interface, a NestJS backend, background processing services, and PostgreSQL with vector search. Authentication and data management are supported through Supabase, while AI processing is handled through the Tuturuuu AI Gateway. The project demonstrates how AI can reduce the manual effort involved in maintaining personal records while improving memory recall, long-term reflection, and access to information across a user’s digital life.
