The RMIT School of Business & Management students - Tran Thi Khanh Van, Le Hoang Yen, Phan Thai Binh, Dang Huy Phong and Le Tran Anh Thu represented the University at the CFA Research Challenge 2020 and won the first prize at the national level.
The CFA Research Challenge is one of the most prestigious student competitions in equity research. This competition is a transformative life experience for students where they learn how to apply the theory into a practical real-world case study. As the academic mentor, Dr Huy Doan guides the winning team this year with his expert knowledge and experience in finance. The winning team will proceed to the Asia-Pacific CFA Institute Research Challenge in 2021, andwe wish them best of luck in the regional round
International Blockchain Olympiad
With diverse backgrounds from business, technology and IT, the RMIT students - Huynh Minh Tuan, Vo Tran Truong Duy, Mai Hoang My Hao, Bui Duc Huy and Mai Hoang Ngoc Han won the Merit Award at the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) competition. This competition rewards students who can think deeply about a problem and then create a sustainable and innovative solution, and explain it to others in a coherent manner. The winning RMIT team proposed the HebiLife application using blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) on health microinsurance products to help low-income population gain better access to health microinsurance.

International Blockchain Olympiad 2021
RMIT students from the RMIT FinTech Club with the project "Blockchain-based child trafficking prevention system" have just won the theme prize "Identity & Privacy" in the international round, in addition to being the first runner-up of the national round, of the International Blockchain Olympiad 2021. The competition has attracted 600 teams from 59 countries. In this Blockchain project that combats child trafficking, each person has a personal ID, later will build a biological monitoring model such as fingerprint, face, and retinal recognition. This information is then stored in the Blockchain. When passing through international customs or where confidentiality is required, this biological information will be used to check the identity. Children who are not accompanied by their parents will be identified by the system and a notification will be sent to their parents.
