ROBOT SMART HMI FOR PACKING APPLICATION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Updating from the Project Proposal [1] and the Progress Report [2] in Capstone A, the team continuously focuses on developing the UI for the packing application. Specifically, the team concentrates and works on the front–end while the other team handles the back–end. Teammates collaborate with the teams to link two parts and ensure the system functions properly.

There is a change in terms of hardware, instead of working with IRB 910SC SCARA as the plan from ABB in this Capstone project [3], the team is now using IRB 920 SCARA robot [4]. Otherwise, the software remains the same compared to Capstone A. Then, the group starts building the UI on the program when it comes to the design phase. The Robot Studio platform is then employed to simulate, examine, and verify the program's errors and bugs and ensure the code functions correctly. The packing app is then synced to display on the C30 OmniCore TeachPendant screen at the next stage. Teammates will utilize the TeachPendant to define the packing configuration for the IRB 920 SCARA after the procedure to evaluate if the robot can perform the packing task and to test the functionality of this User Interface.
