ROBOT NO-CODE-SKILL CREATOR FOR WIZARD PROGRAM
With the rapid development in terms of intelligence and capabilities, robots are being deployed into many new uncontrolled environments such as houses, hospitals, and restaurants, with a wider range of tasks to perform. In addition, the introduction of collaborative robots that can work safely with humans has resulted in a fast-rising number of robots in several sectors across the globe. This means that more and more people with little to no coding skills or engineering background have to know how to operate robots. However, programming a robot is difficult, time-consuming, and requires a certain level of understanding of these systems. This capstone project aims to develop a graphical interface, named Standard Programs, that allows end-users to manipulate ABB’s robots with simple operations and requires no coding skill. This interface leverages the existing ABB’s Wizard as a tool and is also integrated with a set of industry-standard practices to ensure that operators can control the robots easily and safely without complicated training. Any task that users want the robot to perform will be pre-established in Wizard and integrated into a single button in Standard Programs. Users then can choose which program they want to run with just a click of a button.
