Project Stock Price Prediction using AI/ML Systems

Stock market prediction is a difficult task due to the stock market’s inherently volatile and noisy nature [1]. Historically, stock market prediction is achieved through the usage of statistical techniques, but the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) opens up another approach for forecasting stock prices, which has been shown to produce more accurate predictions compared to traditional statistical analysis solutions [2]. In this project, we propose a product that leans towards a more practical application of AI in stock market prediction, more specifically the development of an AI model that predicts selected US stocks in different time frames, daily, weekly and monthly, alongside a web application that allows users to view those predictions. With the development of this application, we aim to help investor end-users make more informed investment decisions through the incorporation of prediction results from our solution into their investment workflow and using it as a confirmation indicator. The practical significance of a successful outcome for our project in practice is its usefulness, as being able to accurately forecast the future movements of the stocks enables investors to make informed investment decisions that can net profit [3].
