Smart Waste Classification System

The Pilot team developed a smart waste classification system aimed at enhancing waste management practices in urban environments, particularly in Vietnam. This innovative system utilizes IoT sensors and the DenseNet-169 AI model to achieve a 93% accuracy rate in real-time waste classification, sorting materials into five categories. The system is designed to automate the separation of recyclable materials, significantly improving recycling rates and reducing landfill waste.

The hardware component includes IoT sensors calibrated to ensure precise sorting and smooth operation. The software component integrates AI-based image recognition with a user-friendly interface, enabling easy monitoring and control. During alpha and beta testing, the system demonstrated high reliability and positive user feedback.

By addressing the inefficiencies in traditional waste management systems, the Pilot project supports sustainable development goals and contributes to more effective recycling and waste management. The system is scalable and designed for deployment in educational institutions, environmental organizations, and urban waste management agencies across Vietnam.
