The model I have titled Ember Melodies was inspired by the song "Burning" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It was first envisioned through haptic drawing that inspired the use of bamboo as a primary material to create complex designed model structures. My project aims to showcase the beauty, strength and flexibility of bamboo while capturing the song’s evocative emotions through three key concepts: Passionate, Captive and Explosive.
I use a paraboloid hyperbolic shape to visually represent the passion expressed in the song that symbolises the ribcage that protects your heart. For the Captive intention, I built up an intricately geometric shape to portray an emotional prison. Each single bamboo stick connects and relates to each other. The unity with the paraboloid hyperbolic shape shows how passion, just like the tentacles in the haptic drawing, can hold captive the love that is difficult to escape, conveying the main meaning of the song, that the fiery spirit inside love thirsts to move forward.
The model incorporates an explosive effect by using flat bamboo curves and twisting them from deep inside and bottom out to the surface like a fountain to cool down the burning inner love. The combination of emotions and techniques made me decide to name it Ember Melodies, to represent the harmonious fusion of nature, art, and music to represent a combustible love.

Mô hình mà tôi đặt tên là Ember Melodies được lấy cảm hứng từ bài hát "Burning" của Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Nó được hình dung đầu tiên thông qua bản vẽ xúc giác, từ đó lấy cảm hứng sử dụng tre làm vật liệu chính để tạo ra các cấu trúc mô hình phức tạp. Dự án của tôi nhằm mục đích thể hiện vẻ đẹp, sức mạnh và sự linh hoạt của tre trong khi nắm bắt được những cảm xúc gợi cảm của bài hát thông qua ba khái niệm chính: Đam mê, Giam cầm và Bùng nổ.
Tôi sử dụng hình dạng paraboloid hyperbolic để thể hiện trực quan sự đam mê được bày tỏ trong bài hát, tượng trưng cho lồng ngực bảo vệ trái tim của bạn. Đối với ý định Giam cầm, tôi đã xây dựng một hình dạng hình học phức tạp để miêu tả một nhà tù cảm xúc. Mỗi que tre đơn lẻ kết nối và liên quan đến nhau. Sự thống nhất với hình dạng paraboloid hyperbolic cho thấy cách đam mê, giống như những xúc tu trong bản vẽ xúc giác, có thể giam cầm tình yêu khó thoát ra, truyền tải ý nghĩa chính của bài hát rằng tinh thần rực lửa bên trong tình yêu khao khát tiến về phía trước.
Mô hình kết hợp hiệu ứng bùng nổ bằng cách sử dụng các đường cong tre phẳng và xoắn chúng từ sâu bên trong và từ dưới lên bề mặt như một đài phun nước để làm dịu đi tình yêu cháy bỏng bên trong. Sự kết hợp của cảm xúc và kỹ thuật đã khiến tôi quyết định đặt tên nó là Ember Melodies, để đại diện cho sự hòa quyện hài hòa của thiên nhiên, nghệ thuật và âm nhạc nhằm thể hiện một tình yêu dễ cháy.
