TECH-DRIVEN SUSTAINABILITY: SMART GREEN WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The Smart Green waste Management System integrates AI and IoT technology to improve solid domestic waste management processes. The system uses the YoloV8 AI model for trash classification, which is an advanced object detection technology. The design includes a Trash Detection Mobile Application that allows users to take photos of trash objects. These photos are transmitted to the YoloV8 model which categorizes the waste and provides feedback to users after a few seconds. Our dataset, comprising photos of waste from Vietnam's trash sources, was manually labeled to ensure precise identification of various waste types, significantly enhancing the AI's ability to correctly classify local waste categories. Additionally, IoT-enabled smart bins ultrasonic sensors for fullness detection and cameras, provide real-time monitoring and feedback. By integrating AI-powered classification with real-time bin monitoring, the project aims to minimize waste mismanagement, accelerate collection processes, and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
