DESIGN AND PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT OF A SMART SHRIMP FEEDING SYSTEM
Shrimp farming is a vital industry in Vietnam, providing essential food resources for local and international markets. Although current modern feeders are working effectively, there is still potential for enhancement. This project aims to develop an automatic shrimp feeding system that comprises IoT technology to enhance functionality and enable remote control via an application and cloud computing.
The proposed system is designed to distribute feed pellets accurately within a 20-meter radius, with adjustable spacing settings controlled through the app. It will have a minimum storage capacity of 30 kg and will operate with less than 200 watts, featuring integrated solar panels to reduce energy consumption.
A key feature of the system is IoT capability, which allows for real-time monitoring of feed moisture, feed levels, ambient temperature, feed rotation, and distribution radius. This data will be transmitted to the cloud using an ESP32 module, which can be accessed through the user’s app. The app will enable users to remotely schedule feedings, with the system automatically dispensing feed at commands. Within a radius of 5km, the operational system can provide essential convenience and efficiency in aquaculture management. Additionally, a remote control can be used when the app is under maintenance.
