International Business

Bachelor of Business, International Business examines business practices through globally and socially responsible business lenses. You will then build expertise in areas such as contemporary issues in international business, global trade operations, cross-cultural management, international finance and managing international business responsibly.

International Business graduates can work in any company, anywhere in the world and can manage people below them, at the same level or above them.

In management consulting, we search for people who are proactive, good communicators and problem solvers. Due to the nature of our work, we work in multicultural teams to solve client problems. I find RMIT programs to be very up to date with market requirements. RMIT students have the advantage of being multilingual and outgoing, making them suitable for consulting work. A few of my team members are former RMIT students.

Since graduating, I’ve worked with foreign businesses from different industries. It’s been great to see first-hand how Vietnam’s integration with the world is changing constantly. I completed my studies with an internship at a consultancy focused on market entry into South-East Asia. I then continued working there because the job matched my academic background well. I’m now in another role supporting foreign companies to expand into the Vietnamase market.

I'm Tung, an 8th-semester student majoring in International Business. I’m very excited and truly open-minded to discover new things in life, about the future possibilities, and a beautiful combination of entrepreneurship, business, and creativity.

I would love to thank RMIT University, RMIT Activator Vietnam, and the Melbourne team for bringing What's Possible: Mars Petcare Innovation hackathon. The program offers me an exciting environment on an international scale, a global hackathon, where people from across cultures engage from around the world and leverage creativity with Design Thinking Process to come up with ideas/solutions from challenges posed.

Personally, I gained more insight into industries that I never thought I would have a chance to explore before: Pet Care. Also, I have fully engaged with my teammate, who I just met in the competition that day from different countries: Australia, Sri Lanka, which has motivated me in the process of multicultural management. Thank you so much teammate, we made it!

A brighter future awaits ahead. I hope this will be a solid fulcrum for a beautiful journey ahead.
