Luminous Grace is a project involving the design of a typographic wordmark and a hypothetical exhibition poster that explores contemporary Vietnamese femininity within digital culture.
The project draws on research into the practice of Design Master Martyna Wędzicka-Obuchowicz, whose work explores deconstructed visual structures through controlled disruption. This influence shapes the use of digital interference to express layered identities shaped by Vietnamese culture, digital processes, and feminine presence.
Throughout the design process, glitch aesthetics were employed as both a visual language and a conceptual framework. Fragmentation and distortion were applied intentionally to the image of a Vietnamese woman wearing áo nhật bình and a mấn, in order to examine how visual disruption can remain structured while enhancing aesthetic impact and reinforcing the conceptual meaning of the poster. The composition was developed around a strong central image, allowing visual tension to emerge while typography and colour were refined to maintain editorial hierarchy and legibility.
This work aims to reframe digital disruption as a site of resilience and continuity. The work seeks to express the beauty of Vietnamese femininity as multifaceted and capable, often subtle and restrained, yet consistently radiant. Each fragment represents a talent or inner strength, suggesting that femininity shines not despite complexity, but because of it, remaining resilient, dynamic, and continuously luminous within contemporary digital culture.
