Located below Kenh Te Bridge, “Curvy” is a sustainable design center
for the canal area of District 4 (D4) (a river and the surrounding lands) to address rising water issues in Vietnam, which would facilitate the space for local people to do business without having to worry about their own safety.
This speculative future-based project
is inspired by the aesthetic curves
which appear subtly on the windows on the houses, fences, umbrellas; as well as details from the features of the old French house architecture. At "Curvy", parks and sitting areas will be developed to create job opportunities for local people and satisfy the demands of our customers. Therefore, a small natural area on the roof of our East building will be created to protect people from sunlight. At the area under the canal, people can do business while enjoying the beauty of the canal. The exterior layer of the entire area and the building is made of concrete, a common material in this area. In addition, glass materials at the front of the building create ventilation for the whole building, which provides a feeling of smoothly finished surfaces while connecting with the botanic garden outside.
Overall, “Curvy"
was created to fulfill the desires of our customers, convey meaningful messages and comfort visitors.
