This design proposal reimagines the journey to Building 10 as an immersive, connective experience rather than a mere transit route. By treating every transition as a touchpoint, the intervention bridges the physical gap between Building 10 and the broader RMIT campus.
Central to this vision is a pixel-based motif that visualises RMIT’s commitment to inclusivity. The design evolves from collective, large-scale blocks into intricate, individual shapes, symbolising the harmony between a diverse community and the unique identity of each student. True inclusivity is expressed by empowering students to claim their right to campus facilities and services through enhanced visibility and engagement.
Across deliverables (from the Active Hub’s glass panels and reception desk to the outdoor courts and corridors), the pixelated language creates a cohesive narrative. By blending environmental graphics with motion design, the project transforms static infrastructure into a dynamic dialogue, ensuring every student at RMIT feels invited, informed, and connected.
