Nhà bà
is a first-person psychological horror game, with gameplay inspired by P.T. and The Joy of Creation. Taking place in rural Vietnam during the Subsidy Period (Thời Bao Cấp), the player is tasked with guarding their grandmother’s house for seven days while she is in the hospital. Every night, a demon attempts to manifest through various objects. The player must identify these supernatural events and prevent them from fully manifesting.
Each night, the demon’s influence spreads further throughout the house, allowing it to manifest through more objects in more rooms. The house subtly changes every night, gradually revealing a sinister secret. Eventually, it is revealed that, during a bout of psychosis, the protagonist killed their grandmother after mistaking her for a demon, before taking their own life out of guilt. They are now trapped in a twisted recreation of their grandmother’s house in hell.
Every week, their memory is erased, forcing them to relive their sins for eternity. Nhà bà is made for fans of Vietnamese psychological horror games such as Thần Trùng and The Scourge, with a moderate focus on strategy and planning.
