This design takes the concept of "comfort" to an extreme level. It uses qualities typically associated with comfort to overly protect the human body by blocking and altering sensory inputs, thereby making the wearer experience discomfort. The focus is on the intentional contradiction of comfort and discomfort, where the cocoon manipulates sensory inputs to challenge the user's sensory perception and disrupt typical expectations of comfort. Essentially, the design confronts the human desire for comfort, turning it into a form of sensory deprivation.
