Intrigued by the central role of semantics in decoding meaning, the students delivered an oral presentation exploring key semantic concepts and theoretical frameworks—particularly truth conditions, entailment, and semantic ambiguity—grounded in solid academic research. The presentation not only clarified these foundational ideas but also highlighted how semantic ambiguity can impact communication, offering strategies for using other semantic tools when compositionality breaks down.
A notable strength of the session was the integration of multicultural perspectives, drawing on the students' diverse linguistic backgrounds (French, English, and Vietnamese). This allowed for rich comparisons of how semantic compositionality operates across languages. Through lived experiences and examples from literature, economic terminology, metaphors, and proverbs, they illustrated how meaning is shaped in context—demonstrating that word meanings are not fixed by dictionaries but constructed through interpretation.
The session encouraged learners to move beyond literal meanings and consider the deeper layers of meaning, a crucial insight for both language development and intercultural understanding.
The presentation structure was clear, logical, and well-organized. Task distribution among team members was thoughtful and effective, with contributions overall balanced despite a few members taking slightly more responsibility.

While there remains room for improvement, the overall effort and achievement are commendable and well worth recognising. The team demonstrated strong engagement with the topic, creative thinking, and an ability to connect theory and practice.
